Our driving guide will come to your hotel or the Kigali Airport early in the morning to take you to Volcanoes National Park, which is about a two-hour drive away for tracking gorillas and trekking various primates, like golden monkeys among others. Before embarking on your two- to three-hour trek to track mountain gorillas in the verdant rain forest with your packed lunch, you will check in at the briefing site or headquarters to understand the dos and don’ts while tracking. Day 2: Trekking with Golden Monkeys and Returning to Kigali
Get up early for an early breakfast, then make your way to the Kinigi park headquarters by 7:00 a.m. After meeting the ranger guide and joining the other Golden Monkeys trekkers, you will discuss the activity and the park for a short while before boarding the cars and heading to the trailhead located just outside the park at 8:00 a.m. As you set out to hunt the golden monkeys in the park, take in breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Because the land is reasonably level and simple to walk, golden monkeys can be found living in the bamboo forests close to the park’s perimeter. Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk
After breakfast, head to the park offices for training before heading into the tropical rain forest to look for the camera-shy chimps perched on tree branches and capture priceless pictures and movies. After lunch and in the evening, take a stroll over the canopy, which provides up-close views of plants, monkeys, birds, and butterflies. Go back to the lodge to spend the night and supper. Day 3: Guided nature walk and then departure
On day 3, You will go on a guided nature walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park which is approximately 19 hiking pathways that will allow you to explore the forest’s richness. Hiking the Isumo waterfall trek will take you approximately four hours in total.
After lunch when you get back to Kigali, you will check out of your accommodation. You will then return to Kigali, where your driver guide will drop you off at your preferred hotel or the airport so you can check in and catch your trip home. End of the trip.
