Central Chimpanzee
The central chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes troglodytes), a subspecies of the common chimpanzee, can be found in the Republic of the Congo, Cameroon, and Gabon in Africa. Equatorial Guinea, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and a few more nations also have small populations.
The savanna woodlands, tropical moist forests, and mosaics of forests and savannas are where the central chimpanzees are most frequently found. These can be found between sea level and a height of around 9,800 feet.
These chimpanzees are listed as endangered by the IUCN. Just 47,000 to 78,000 members of this species remain in existence today.
